The collection event is scheduled for: Saturday, October 8th 8 AM – 12 NOON at Warhill High School parking lot, 4615 Opportunity Way, (off of Centerville Road), Williamsburg 23188. Note: The Shred-a-thon scheduled for Oct 8th has been cancelled.

09/14/16 JCCPD to host VIN etching event

James City County Police Department, in partnership with the Virginia State Police Help Eliminate Auto Theft (HEAT) program, will host a VIN etching event on Wednesday, Sept. 14 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. in the parking lot at Target, 4630 Monticello Avenue, Williamsburg.

Following the Memorial Day holiday, WM Trash collections will be a day late, on Friday, but VPPSA curbside recycling collections will not be affected.

04/08/16 Missing Pet Bird.

We have a missing pet bird in the neighborhood, lost from our neighbours in The Pointe. The bird will fly onto your shoulder. if you see it or catch it please notify Berkeley Realty. Update – the bird has returned.

11/04/2015 Missing Dog

An old brittany white spaniel with some orange spots , called Trouble, walked away from Pierside Reach on Tuesday and hasn’t returned. She has a red collar and a plaid harness.The electronic fence didn’t stop her this time. She doesn’t walk well any more and may not hear you call her name. Please check your yards for her, and if you find her, please contact Berkeley-Realty.

10.04.2014 HOA Grant

Congratulations to our HOA for winning a JCC Beautification Grant. From the JCC website “Matching grants of up to $500 were awarded to several neighborhoods and community groups to accomplish an environmentally sustainable landscape beautification project. ” More details can be found in the latest JCC FYI. This month’s FYI also contains details about the voter photo identification requirement.

05.26.2015 Trash Collection

According to Waste Management, our trash collection will be delayed one day this week, due to the Memorial Day holiday. Curb side recycling is not affected, as the team worked Monday.

03.06.2015 Recycling Update

By JCC “Due to the volume of snow that has fallen during this latest winter storm, our curbside recycling collection contractor has been forced to cancel recycling service for all BLUE Thursday (2/26) and BLUE Friday (2/27) collection routes.  They will not be able to make these days up.  The contractor will collect all recyclables that residents have out on their next scheduled day, which will be on March 12, 2015 and March 13, 2015 (Blue Week – Thursday and Friday).  It is recommended that overflow recyclables be placed in a cardboard box and placed either on top of or beside the recycling cart.  PLEASE DO NOT USE PLASTIC BAGS (thank you!)

From the HOA “In order to perform maintenance on the walking trails, piles of crushed stone will be placed at a couple of trailhead entrances along Queen Bishop Lane.  These piles of stone will likely cover small portions of the sidewalks for a relatively short period of time until the stone is distributed to the trails.  We apologize for the inconvenience.”

According to the Waste Management website, our waste collection will not be collected on Thanksgiving but will be one day late, ie. on Friday.

JCC have information about three events, more information is available here – JCC October Events. There is information about The JCC Neighborhood Leaders Forum being held on Oct 8th, which is open to all residents. The next Shred-a-thon is on Oct 11th. The Mooretown Road Corridor Study will be on Oct 20th. Advice for Trick and Treat is also included in this post.

Many thanks go to the HOA for organising a great picnic today and to Rocco’s

4o-lpf-bbqfor some excellent food. The weather, and the company, of course, were great.

LPF will have a community picnic on Saturday, October 4th, from 1-5pm in Isabel Park. Rocco’s will be catering. BYOB wine and beer and bring chairs to sit on. If you want to bring a favorite desert to share, that would be great!

From JCC’s Recycling Web Page: The current regional curbside recycling contract has run its seven year term and will end in June of this year. A new contract, with a new contractor, will take effect on June 30, 2014. Residents will be provided with new recycling carts with wheels and an attached lid to use with this program; 18 gallon bins will no longer be serviced through this new program. The carts will be serviced every other week.

The next free household chemical and computer and electronics collection will be on June 14 at Warhill High School, 4615 Opportunity Way, from 8 a.m.-noon. Details in the latest FYI.

* There have been a couple of car break-ins in the community lately and would ask residents to lock their vehicles, and be aware of, and report suspicious activities appropriately to the police.

* A work order has been placed with VDOT to address the road settling at the corner of Queen Bishop Lane and Gold Knight Court.

“A resident on Rook Pawn Reach recently reported eggs being thrown at their house in the evening time.  Residents are encouraged to report such activity and other suspicious activity to the police and to the HOA Board for situational awareness.”

Call for Volunteers to help with the LPF 2013 Spring Plantings

The LPF Landscape committee will meet Saturday morning, April 27th, 8:30AM at 2909 Gold Knight Court.  We have a total of 31 relatively small spring plantings to place and would enjoy having our neighborhood members with (or without) green thumbs give us a hand for a couple of hours.  Feel free to bring your garden tools and come on out!

LPF April Dine-around

Weed Spraying. Our landscape contractor Extra Mile Landscapes Inc. will be spraying the LPF “maintenance areas” with post-emergent weed killer on March 28th or 29th


BOD Meeting. Tonight’s meeting of the BOD has been cancelled (Wednesday Jan 16th). The next meeting will be at 7PM on Wednesday, April 17th.


Trash and Recycling Collection. Christmas Trash will be collected on Friday December 28th and Friday, January 4th.  NO trash pickup on Xmas & New Year’s Day! Curbside recycling days appear to be unaffected this holiday.
